Nestled cozily amidst the Ozark Mountains, lies the unique, small town community of Berryville, Arkansas. With a population of more than 4,000, the people of Berryville enjoy the scenic accessibility of being approximately 35 miles south of Branson, Missouri, a few miles further to Springfield, Missouri, and about 40 miles east of Fayetteville, Arkansas – home of the Razorbacks. Also, many people come to this area from all over the country to enjoy the nostalgia of Eureka Springs, Arkansas – just ten miles west of Berryville. The beauty of this small Ozark Mountain community is enticingly complimented by its close proximity to many lakes and rivers – including Beaver Lake in Eureka Springs; Table Rock Lake near Branson; and Buffalo National River near Harrison, Arkansas which is 35 miles east of Berryville. In addition to its picturesque countryside, Berryville offers a family-oriented community atmosphere perfect for raising a family. At the heart of the city of Berryville is a vibrant, thriving school that breathes life into its community. The people in this small town also reciprocate that life by nourishing the school body with their support and their time. And, as we, the Berryville Public Schools, “Strive for Excellence,” we provide comprehensive opportunities for a superior academic curriculum which serves to nurture knowledge and skills in each child so that he or she may be productive members of an ever-changing society. This educational opportunity and responsibility not only lies between the Berryville Public Schools and the Berryville community, but it is also shared with the children and their families. The school, the student, the family, and the community work together to teach children and young people to view learning as a life-long process and to see value in education– not as bucket to fill – but as an opportunity to move their lives forward in the most successful way. Consequently, one of the greatest measurements of community success is evidenced in the lives of those who remain an ongoing part of “community” and in the lives of those who move and/or return to Berryville with families to begin their lives here.
